Hi Cindy

I have the same problem understanding the financial aspect or how a social network makes the money. But I'm pretty sure that is the way to attract more and more people. I do understand the idea to give user the information and basically let them manage the image of a company. I think is the best way to create trust in the cunsumers.

I like the idea of the LunchSpark site, but the design of the site of poorly done. No emphasis is added to any of the navigation to show primary and secondary nav. A full redo of the site, with more features added on, would be something to focus on.

I think having a bulletin board type of feature on your site would be good in helping people find quick 'dates'. Having users be able to find things like someone to help them move or paint a house would also be nice to have on the site. They can just sign on and post 'need help moving, will pay 10 an hour, only a couple couches and chairs', and someone could email them or contact them through the site if they're interested.

I like your ad. However the text needs to pop out more. I also think that the one upside down muffin seems odd.

Yes, I had trouble finding really useful resources, I didn't look for a whole long time, but I thought I gave it a good try. There seems to be a lot of material on the basics of positioning, but I'm not sure what to search for to find more complex positioning tips.

The second link you listed didn't load for me either, so maybe that site is down.

I think what I'm going to try to do is to use float positioning and maybe the other kinds only if I run into an odd situation.

That second page never loads for me either, must be something on their end.

We cross-referenced the same site (the one you cite above) and I agree that the visual method they use to demonstrate position properties is pretty helpful. However, I was able to find a few other sites that were just as helpful in explaining the concept both visually and definition-wise, which are linked in my post. One of these tutorials ("Ten Easy Steps to Learning CSS Positioning") would be a resource I think you'd really benefit from.

Jimmy,
I accidently put one too many http:// that's why the links didn't work.

I thought about reviewing. But that just takes up so much, I was throwing ideas out there. I might use it later on when I have done more research on the idea. But for now, I want to build the basics of helping a person who is interested in riding.

Thanks for the suggestions, I will look at them more closely.

The first site seems to be so much of what you wanted in your site according to the demo you gave in class. It looks like a valuable resource as far as being able to see what that kind of content will look like and how it will work together.

I had a problem with your links by the way.. I don't know if it was just me, but I had to copy and paste them to get them to come up.

I like that you're combining the features of all three of those sites into one so that it's not just about safety as in laws and techniques, but also about safety-gear and tips for difficult situations. I think that would really make your site stand out above all three of those others.

Maybe you could have user submitted reviews on safety gear or something to involve the online community as well? A question and answer forum, or an Ask the Experts feature?

I understand your frustration on the subjects of teachers & errors in code that you just can't see but which manage to hang the whole thing up. I'm glad that Mr. Batchelder seems to be more helpful & hands on than some teachers I've had in the past.
